Welcome to Partners in
Birth. We are Beth McAllister and Gina Picht, birth doulas since
2001. We joined our practices in 2008 to combine our
resources so we could better serve birthing families in the Twin Cities
area (Minneapolis, St. Paul and suburbs). We offer you our collective experience, as
well as the comfort of not having to rely on a backup doula you may not
have met. We have never had to use an outside backup for our families. This is our full-time
job and we are committed to attending your birth.
Our philosophy about childbirth is that a woman's body knows how to birth her baby, usually with minimal intervention. We help you get good information and provide trusted support, so you can feel empowered to make well-informed decisions about your care. We encourage you to make your own choices and support you in your decisions. We provide physical comfort and emotional support to make your labor and birth less fearful and more fulfilling. Our goal is that you know you are welcoming your baby in the way that's best for your family.
After over 10 years, we bring to you the confidence and experience of over 350 births. Our families have worked to achieve a 73% non-epidural birth rate, along with an 87% vaginal birth rate. We are also enthusiastic supporters of VBAC, with a 88% VBAC success rate.
